My turn to brush the dog today. Deb is better at brushing dogs and besides, she really enjoys it. When we last had dogs I was working full time and to be honest Deb did most of this kind of thing. However now I am part time too, I can get in on the dog maintenance action! So I gave Finlay a good brushing today, he seems to quite enjoy it although he is still pretty wriggly and enjoys chewing the brush, me….pretty much everything. But it is very satisfying brushing him, he comes up lovely and although he mainly has just puppy-fluff at the moment, he looks much better.
As with all things, Finlay is un-fazed by the experience, certainly doesn’t dislike it…..he just hasn’t got the patience yet to sit/lay still for very long. Understandable for a young pup. Deb has also managed to clip all his claws, although again wriggling puppy doesn’t help, he didn’t mind the experience. Probably unless it hurts, he’s fine with it. Certainly his claws needed clipping, because he hasn’t been able to be pavement walked yet, he isn’t wearing his claws down, so they are like little needles and although he doesn’t mean to, when he rakes you with them playing….they can gouge a bit!
This is a blog about our Tibetan Spaniel puppy called Finlay. I'll try to tell you a little bit about his story as he grows up in his first few months.
